Tips for first sex after having first baby?

I'm almost 8 weeks pp fllloeing my first baby. I had a traumatic recovery from a vacuum delivery with an episiotomy.
I've thought that sex is a very far off prospect and at my 6 week pp check with gp even told her there's no point talking about contraception as I am in no mood for sex!! Physically I mean- just too sore.

DH is so understanding and patient but when the time comes, how should we go about dtd? The thought of it terrifies me as my scar is still very tender to touch and can't imagine the pain that intercourse would cause. Does anyone have any tips?

Take it slow. Enjoy each other without penetration if that helps. Then there’s no pressure. I had a 4th degree tear - it took time to heal, be ready and have enough energy to do anything like that. Probably a glass of wine helped! I can’t remember how long we waited tbh but there’s no rush.

Massages are a good way to relax and let things build up slowly as well

Lube..... lots of lube!! Slowly and gently and be prepared to stop before you've even started 😂

You'll get there eventually 👍🏼

If you feel this way, you don't do it, and you don't do it, until you don't feel this way (which will happen eventually). Only do it when you are 100% comfortable and happy and it will be a lot easier for you.
