Husband and vasectomy side effects

Afternoon all

I'm after a bit of advice.
My DH had a vasectomy back in June, he's recently had a letter back stating he still has non-motile sperm left in the tubes so has to resend another sample off after 30 more releases.
He had the procedure done predominantly due to MH reasons. He was terrified of an unwanted pregnancy to the point that he wouldn't have sex at all. We already have a wonderful DS and for health reasons I did not want anymore pregnancies either so it made good sense for our marriage to remove this obstacle for him.
So for the last year or so our sex life has been sporadic but I've been understanding about his MH issues surrounding it. We dtd last night and he lasted all of 2 minutes. This had never been a problem before in our relationship.
Could this be a side effect of the procedure? Is it likely to improve with time?
Has anyone else had similar experience and can offer advice?

Doubt if is a result of the operation. More like an anxiety response to the situation and his MH issues.

I had it done and it made absolutely zero difference to the physical sensation side of things.

I'm assuming there are no complications, swelling, infection or other discomfort?

I would suggest it is entirely emotionally based and could be related to maybe not having done the deed for a while, or some other anxiety based issue?

It is highly unlikely to be a physical thing.

Thank you for the replies. All well with the healing so far. Just the set back of still having non motiles floating about after the first 50 3 months after the op. He's got another 30 to do then a resample. Friend at work told me her husband took 18months to be clear!

I did find no problem physically, but did find I lost my sex drive a little as I felt now I am no longer fertile what was the point. Did take me a while to recover my sex drive but got there in the end.

My husband has the opposite issue - used to come quickly - now he can go for ages.

I think this will vary man to man in both the time taken to clear the tubes and any physical or mental effects on sex drive later. In my case I also still had some sperm count on the first check up, so we put in a few extra hand jobs along side the regular sex, including some solo activity. For me everything in an orgasm/ejaculation felt the same, and still does, but it didn't affect my duration, but there was noticeably less fluid and it came out with less force and less distance. Hopefully once you both know the tubes are cleared and there is zero sperm count, you will both relax and start to enjoy a renewed sex life.

He hasn't had sex for ages. That's why he didn't last long.

what happens if the next one still has swimmers? That could take us up to 1 year after procedure

With me after still finding swimmers after 5 tests I had to do a 'warm' sample so they can do the check when as fresh as possible .

I think I had to get the sample there within something like an hour? It was a long time ago. I know you are having a difficult time OP but perhaps a daily hand-job (solo or you doing it) on days you don't have sex just to hurry the next 30 up?
