Sex after the coil

How terrible would it be to have sex the day of getting the coil inserted. With a condom?

The paper I was given says three days no sex and seven days no unprotected sex but I'm just wondering how strict that is?

If your experience is anything like mine, I doubt you’ll be feeling much up for sex the same day as the fitting. But regardless, you need to wait at least 48 hours because of the risk of introducing an infection and potentially pelvic inflammatory disease. Do other stuff in the meantime. Variety being the spice of life and all that.

When I had mine I went straight to bed and was bleeding so much I thought I might have to go to hospital. I also had the worst cramps I've ever had in my life and felt absolutely horrific.

It all stopped after a couple of days and I don't regret it, but if you're experience is in any way similar to mine then sex will be the last thing you want.

I've had it in a couple days now and I feel nothing. Apart from crying all day yesterday and a face full of spots today no heavy bleeding or cramps. Going to wait the three days advised so don't get the infections though
