Another pubic hair question - waxing!

MyNameIsPea · 28/08/2018 21:47

My family are of Colombian descent and unfortunately that means my hair is dark and thick. I've been shaving down there as long as I can remember but I'm tired of having growth the next day. I get 24 hours of smoothness and then it's back to the shaving grind again.
I'm considering having a full wax. My question is (and I feel embarrassed just typing this) I have hair on the outer labia but the line where the hair stops is ridiculously close to where the inner labia starts. If I get waxed can they take it all off? Or is it not possible to put wax so close to the 'inner' parts? I'm so bad at phrasing things, and clearly my vagina anatomy isn't up to scratch, but if you have any idea what I've tried to ask I'd appreciate your help haha.

They can do all kinds of things - but it’s painful....
Have you considered laser?
The new technology now is a lot better and very little pain.
More expensive but waxing also adds up over time...

Alternatively - I used hair removal cream before, gave longer reprive than shaving

MyNameIsPea · 28/08/2018 22:31

Thanks!
I have hair removal cream.. wasn't sure if it was allowed to go that close /:

I haven't looked into laser.. is it extremely expensive?

Depends on where you are - ask around at the salons ok your area.

As to the creams a try it - on a small patch of skin first. Then you’ll see how it is.

Is there an intimate waxing specialist in your area? (most major towns and cities tend to have a few). The waxers that work in these places spend all day dealing with a variety of women’s fannies, men’s cocks and balls and arses of both genders. There’s nothing they won’t have seen, and I’m certain that includes loads of dark haired women like yourself.

They’re always very professional, and I’m sure they know best techniques to deal with those very intimate hairs it in the quickest least painful way.

MarieG10 · 30/08/2018 07:16

My beautician isn't a dedicated "waxer" although she says she does do a lot. I'm blonde so don't have the heavy dark hair but my experience is that she doesn't leave anything at all..assuming that's what is wanted lol. If you have a beautician that you use ask her if she does many at all and make a judgement whether to use her or find another salon that perhaps does more of them. Once you have, then is a case of relaxing and I found that taking a soluble painkiller 30 mins before on the first few occasions helped, probably as much in that it relaxed me more thinking I wouldn't have much discomfort. I don't bother now anyway as she is so quick and professional I feel minimal discomfort.

The result is really worth it and lasts ages for me. Probably not so long for someone like yourself being really dark but still a lot better than the daily grind with a razor

hormonalhorrorshow · 30/08/2018 14:14

Yes, I have this and have waxed it myself and at the salon. The beautician warned me this would be the most painful bit but I don't find it too bad. Using hot wax without strips. Find a salon that specialises in this, it won't be very awkward, and mine is very frank with advice etc.

I wouldn't put hair removal cream there though - it smarts!

CallMePea · 30/08/2018 19:48

Thanks all - I really appreciate it!

Pea. Let us know how you get on or what you decide. There have been several threads around this theme so may help others

NotTheFordType · 01/09/2018 14:21

Have you thought about waxing your pubic area, outer labia and perineum and then doing a daily shave to get rid of anything growing on your inner labia?

From personal experience I'd say plucking or waxing any hair from a mucous membrane is much more painful than from regular skin.

CallMePea · 01/09/2018 20:35

I'll definitely update when I make a decision but @NotTheFordType 's suggestion sounds the least painful I reckon!

RosieBenenden · 02/09/2018 11:48

Use Veet Its amazing and the vagina is totally smooth afterwards. My DH adores me using it let's say.

NotTheFordType · 02/09/2018 12:08

@RosieBenenden you should NOT be putting Veet or any other hair removal cream inside your vagina!

Badhairday1001 · 02/09/2018 15:20

I found that Veet burned my c-section scar and made it weepy and very sore. The scar is 13 years old and I have never had any problems with it. I definitely wouldn’t be putting Veet anywhere near my inner labia if it does that to old scar tissue!

RosieBenenden · 02/09/2018 17:11

I dont put Veet inside my vagina! jus to remove my pubic hair.

CandleWithHair · 09/09/2018 17:20

Don’t wax. Find someone who does sugaring instead. Literally gets rid of everything and also I find it’s much less irritating to my skin.

asbaldasacoot · 16/09/2018 14:27

Some of you can't read ...she said it is NEAR her inner lips . This is pretty normal OP and I get waxed . It feels a bit scary having that wax there on the edge as it were but these girls know what they are doing !

MarieG10 · 21/09/2018 14:44

Would agree....don't use hair removal creams as they are definitely an irritant. Also agree that beauticians know what they are doing. I don't check exactly where it is being removed from but never had problems...it is all done so quickly really. However, the finish is so much better, and especially better than shaving. I don't get ingrown hairs or anything or shaving rash

Electrascoffee · 21/09/2018 22:45

Hollywood waxing doesn't hurt that much. It can be a little sore afterwards but the lovey smooth feeling you get is worth it. I'm a beauty therapist and I also do my own with warm wax - it's really bearable imo.

BadAsMe · 25/09/2018 14:47

A bit late to the party but I wanted to say, I've found my epilator to be a total game-changer.

RosieBenenden · 25/09/2018 20:20

Try the Hollywood. You look and feel so fresh there after and allows you to wear much smaller knickers/g strings if that's your thing. DP definitely enjoys fact I'm waxed there and has enhanced him going down on me during sex too. Bonus all round.
