I know the texture of you I want but it's hard to describe, would it be wrong to take a toy I have already into a sex shop and say I want one like it in a different size/shape?!

I would take a photo of it and bring that in, myself.

Take a photo or get the brandname and model. They can advise of similar.

It's the solidness and texture I'm after though... may just ask if I'm allowed to show them!

Honestly that sounds a little bit TMI (although I'm sure it happens frequently to the poor souls that work at Anne Summers and Pulse & Cocktails.)

Can you not google your toy to see what it's made of, or go into store and say "I'm looking for a dildo that has a silicone outer layer but a solid structure inside" or whatever?

I would but it was a gift and not seen one similar anywhere ever.

Generally, sex shop workers aren't known for their conservative outlooks - I worked in one for a while, which is why I'm confident it's fine!

Why don't you browse online and read some sex toy descriptions, that will give you ideas for how you might describe it.

Bringing in the toy is a bit weird. What are they meant to do, have a feel of it?
