Horrific Dream

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about dreams as I had the most horrid one last night
Id like to add before hand that I go out with the most laid back calm, loving man imaginable who does his fair share and more around the house and is an excellent father. We have been together a long time and he never shouts.

Last night I dreamt that I had started dating another man behind his back although nothing came of it I did feel something for the other person but decided to end it but my OH found out and he proceeded to slash my legs with razor blades all over and really deep and then raped me and I just laid there and silently let him . I tried to tell my family and the police but no-one believed me.

I told my OH today of my dream and he said in the night I was crying in my sleep and he cuddled me and I stopped. Which I obviously don't remember. Im just wondering if anyone has had these horrible dreams and what they mean. Its really shook me up tbh

I am a very light sleeper and dream a lot, most nights. I have some really weird ones but I think they are meaningless. Don't worry about it, It's just the brain sorting out random events.

Wow that is horrific. Usually after a particularly memorable dream I can usually relate it to something I have seen, read about or heard in the days before the dream. Dreams are odd things and can show us dark areas of our own minds that the 'conscious' mind wouldn't usually explore. I wouldn't read too much into it though, I hope you have a nice dream tonight x

Aw, that sounds horrible. I think sometimes the mind plays tricks and thinks up the unimaginable- ie you wouldnt date someone else and you cant ever bring yourself to imagine your dp doing what he did in your dream.

I am sure it has shaken you up and will probably never happen again.

Thanks everyone Its strange the things our mind comes up with. Hopefully a more peaceful sleep tonight :)

Had you watched any horror movies or read any articles about rape in the last few days. Sometimes I have the most bizarre dreams which are almost like reality mixed in with something I might have picked up on in the previous day.

So sweet he cuddled you as you were upset sleeping, he sounds like a keeper :)

I had a horrible nightmare a few years ago that my husband was attacking me. Hitting, stabbing, the works. It was fucking awful. And to be clear, my husband has never once been violent or even aggressive towards me, ever. The mind can play horrible tricks on us.

I sometimes have what I call anxiety dreams...nightmares that are reflecting an unexpressed anxiety I'm having in rl....it used to be planes crashing or that I get left and stranded in the middle of nowhere alone and my phone refuses to work. Horrid!
