I have recently joined, not to meet anyone just to talk to like minded people. I live in the middle of nowhere and if people knew what I liked I think people would stop talking to me

I haven't really had the chance to look around the site yet, I don't know where to start if I'm honest. I've seen some MNers mention the site in some threads in here so I was hoping I could get a few tips and pointers from those who are on/used to be on the site.

There will be local groups and munches if you want to meet people.

Have you joined the Novices & Newbies group yet? I think it's run by Cowhideman. It's a good place to start.
