Penile pain during sex

Have a FWB with whom I've recently become active sexually. Neither of us has had sex for a while. I'm mid 50s, he is late 30s. The foreplay side was all great and, bad though I know it makes me sound, I was really longing for a good hard shag. We've now tried 4 times and while penetration has just about happened, he's not able to thrust very hard, & each time we've had to stop before properly getting going. At times I've wanted to cry with frustration. I've done so gentle probing and it seems his foreskin (which covers the head of his willy and some even when erect) causes him severe pain when he penetrates me. Something possibly to do with his frenulum being too short. I don't want to give up on things yet, wondered if anyone had any experience of this and how it panned out?

Sounds like he needs to see his GP about possibly having balanitis.

ASDismynormality · 08/08/2017 14:48

I wonder if he needs a circumcision. The only way forward is for him to see his GP for an examination.

Gentlygrowingoldermale · 08/08/2017 14:51

See GP. Check NHS on line help. Adult circumcision is not that unusual.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/08/2017 14:52

Very common and easily fixed if he sees his GP.

SensualSue · 08/08/2017 15:38

I think the "c" word is his ultimate nightmare but I might just have to bring it up..

Makes my eyes water too SS, just thinking about it!

Then you concentrate on him seeing his GP - bound to mention it. Have a look at the NHS site and you'll understand why. I know one person who had it done, never stopped smiling ever after! He was in his late thirties.

lostincumbria · 08/08/2017 16:23

Prior to jumping to circumcision, get him to try hot baths and stretching the foreskin. Not guaranteed, but worth a shot before needing to go under the knife.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/08/2017 16:30

There's also steroid cream he could try if suitable. He needs to see the doctor.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/08/2017 16:31

He may be suitable for a partial circumcision also . Basically,he won't know unless he sees the GP!

SensualSue · 08/08/2017 19:37

Ive known a few men who've had the snip as adults. Doesn't seem like too big a deal but then I would say that

I have too, minimal discomfort and barely needed pain killers.

I know of one who had a dreadful infection afterwards but that is a risk with any surgery.

Jason118 · 08/08/2017 19:52

I had the same issue back in the day - unfortunate incident involving a slight tear remedied the situation, but it was a bit messy for a few days. Better I think to see the Doc and have a controlled mini chop

LostAtSea2 · 09/08/2017 22:32

Yep....I had it done. Uncomfortable for a few weeks but not painful

CardsforKittens · 14/08/2017 00:27

Some guys have less foreskin movement than others (e.g. because of phimosis). Lots and lots and lots of lube can help - worth a try before resorting to surgery.

Has he just got a little tear in his frenulum? That can hurt like a bugger when thrusting and can take ages to heal/reoccur if not fully healed.

Also if it is just a short frenulum problem (rather than tight foreskin) then there are other fixes than circumcision - some you could do yourselves if not too squeamish. Look up frenulum tying - basically a stitch is put through it and tied tight. Over a few days it cuts through the fenulum and effectively lengthens it by double the depth the stitch was put in at.
Thats how mine was fixed. Mine was very short, and would bend tip of penis down when skin was pulled back. It also stopped skin from coming all the way back behind the rim and would also hurt at times as it would pull that tight. 2 stitches (2nd done once first had healed (no real healing required though) as still a bit more improvement was desired) and now skin pulls back flat along shaft clear of rim without bending glans down and no pain now.
I did them myself btw (too embarrassed to ask doctor)
