How to politely ask for a bit more excitement

Hi all
I've been with my Dp for a year now and we have a really good relationship. He is a professional musician so is away most weekends and was away all of December (as he is the musician for quite a famous person)
Anyway we see each other once or twice a week and sometimes we have sex sometimes we don't but it's always the same. (So sorry to be crude here) he will finger me and then hel tell me to get on top. I'm so bored of it as my spirit is much wilder. How can I politely suggest maybe having sex in another position.

Why do you need to suggest or ask? Next time you take the lead then make a couple of suggestions. My partner loves when I take control and he's never yet complained he didn't enjoy something

Next time do something different before he makes the suggestion or when he does just do something else.
