So... I need some of your help.
the last time I had sex with my children's father is when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was about 4 months. I gave birth to my daughter and seperated from him shortly after. Now then I got in a new relationship for the past year with someone else, he told me he got tested before he slept with me. Now I'm pregnant, due to have an abortion, had a call from the clinic to tell me I have Clamidiya. :/
Now... My thoughts are it must be from the current guy, and I'm not to blame as surely when I was pregnant they test you for these things, and surely I could have given it to my child during childbirth.
God knows how this has happened, I mean I've slept with 2 people in the ten years. But before I blame the current guy, I want to make sure it couldn't have been my ex.

Some one help!

Assuming you were tested during your previous pregnancy then yes it must be from your current partner. Tell him immediately so you can both get treatment asap.

If you have not been tested previously, surely it could have been either of them that you contracted it from. My understanding is that chlamydia is often symptomless, but quite common. It doesn't matter that you only slept with two people, they could have slept with hundreds.

Yes he's got his phone off, but have been convinced he's been cheating on me. May be his chance to come clean

Could you ask your GP to find out if you were tested in your last pregnancy for you?

Chlamydia isn't tested for in pregnancy, so unless you specifically requested an STI screen at that time then it could be from either.

Isn't it? Wow. So I could have had it previously and passed it on to my daughter during birth because someone cheated on me. RAW. I was tested for it before I got together with my child's father, so it was him or the current guy!

Just thought I had a smear after my baby was born. Wouldn't it show up then?

I don't think they check for chlamydia during smears but I could be wrong!

If you were under 25 during your last pregnancy you will have been screened ( I don't know if this is consistent all over the UK though). Is it possible to pass to a baby?

You can pass it to a baby but they get conjunctivitis, I think it's 40% of the time that it is passed on through birth so yes you could have had it ages without knosing, it's quite common

Yeah I researched it, and freaked out. Yes I was under 25. So that helps. I'm going to go to the doctor to get treated so it might be worth asking him as its very mixed answers. Glad I'm not the only clueless one though

It won't show in a smear test either so sadly you could have had it while pregnant.

Has your youngest been ill at all? 10-20% of newborns that contract chlamydia at birth develop conjunctivitis or pneumonia. She may well not have had any symptoms at all. The only way to know is to ask for her to be tested too.

She had conjunctivitis when she was 8 months, and an absolutely awful cough at 20 months. Could this be related? Now feeling like the worst mum in the world

Don't blame yourself, the only thing to do now is get treated and get your daughter tested.
STIs are incredibly common. I had chlamidya for two years and ended up with awful pelvic inflammatory pain before I found out which was awful. My partner also cheated. You are not alone in this Flowers

If DD has been ill and got through it without investigation, chances are she doesn't have chlamidya, that's why I asked!

Chlamydia affects fertility so the fact that you have recently gotten pregnancy might mean you don't have it very long. Usually, when you test positive for an std, they contact trace and contact all your previous sexual partners since the last negative test so they can get tested. They won't say it was through you.

I spoke to a doctor who didn't help. He said they probably tested during pregnancy and you can't pass it through giving birth to your child. To be honest, he seemed completely uninterested in treating me at all or making me feel better
