Sex toys for beginners?

Defenestration · 02/05/2016 02:46

Have finally got my pre children sex drive back and am now thinking of toys for myself and DP. Have never used any type of sex toy but really fancy getting one or two things for a bit of fun but I literally have no idea what or where to buy from? any suggestions? I know it's probably quite an individual thing but there is too much choice for me!

How old are your dc?

WellErrr · 02/05/2016 03:13

What a weird answer to that question Fast!

Hmm
mummytobecabz · 02/05/2016 03:15

Maybe a starter kit from love honey, they have a huge range on the website xx

I guess it depends on the stimulation you want? Clitoral, penetrative, both?

I was bought a massage wand by my partner, and it's very nice externally, both can use and during sex or alone.

FastWindow · 02/05/2016 19:43

I suppose i should explained but it was a bit late!!

If the kids are very young, you can get away with noisy toys. If they are a bit older, then a creaky swing definitely wont be an option, do you see where im going with the question now Grin

I can see FastWindow's point - The Art of Silent Sex is a book waiting to be written for parents living in small houses with thin walls.

TheSuspiciousMsWhicher · 02/05/2016 19:54

Do you want toys that you can use by yourself or ones that are designed to be enjoyed by couples?

I would have a browse on Lovehoney. There are lots of options and there are plenty of reviews to help you decide.

I also wonder what you are looking for?

In my view, to enhance your own clitoral stimulation, nothing works as well as just a standard bullet. They are like remote controls with a wire which attaches to a plastic bullet which you hold on your clit. They are AMAZING and have lots of settings and add ons you can buy.

They are hard for couple play though as you have to hold the bullet in place, and there are wires.

Cock rings are fun and often have vibrating options, but more for him than you as it's hard to keep your clit on the vibrating bit long enough to come.

Dildos- gosh they really do come in all shapes and sizes. Some you could get just for him to use on you, and others could be used both vaginally on you, and anally on both of you.

There are also smaller anal probes to get you or him or both of you used to the sensation, or beads, or prostate massagers for him...

Really, what would you like to experience / be enhanced? Can go from there.

Oh gosh I forgot I even started this thread until i clicked threads I'm on. I literally have no clue where to start, I think clitoral stimulation and something for us to use together so would that be a cock ring?
I don't feel so brave talking about this in the light of day Blush

Cock rings are hilarious. Try one. Your dc are young enough to sleep super soundly so they wont be disturbed by the laughter :)

flanjabelle · 05/05/2016 19:11

I found that a simple, small bullet vibrator (battery powered, no wires etc) was a good way to start. We used it during foreplay and then continued it during piv. Because it was small and simple it didn't feel like we were out of our comfort zones. Since then we have experimented with other things such as vibrating cock rings (overrated imo), a love egg (not bad, I didn't like it internally though) and a gspot vibrator (pretty good), but the bullet is by far the favourite toy still.

HandsomeGroomGiveHerRoom · 05/05/2016 19:26

I love dp's cock ring. It's all black and rubbery, with a bit that goes round his balls, and holds a very good bullet. He's less keen on it than I am Blush

I quite like my rabbit, but it's noisy and it all ends a bit quick. Dp enjoys watching though.

Totally second Lovehoney as a good place to start. The product reviews alone are hilarious worth a read. Sign up for their emails and you get notification of their deals of the day, some of which are bargainous.

Am browsing love honey now kids are in bed. I didn't even know what a bullet was until just now, reviews have me convinced though & they are reasonably priced too!
I'm intrigued by lots of things on there, mustn't get carried away Grinthanks for the help everyone!
