Well this is embarrassing but oh wellBlush--

Fourth DC is 6 months old and sleeps well, apart from 2 or 3 times we've not had much in the way of intimacy since she was born.
We have this awkward silence between us when we're alone and there is a very obvious elephant In the room.
I don't want I slip into the habit of ignoring it purely because we're both a little rusty on how to get things going iyswim?
So how do I make the moves so the dry spell doesn't go on forever? BlushBlushBlush

I think it's easy to become a bit inhibited after childbirth and / or a long spell without sex. Ds is 10 months and our sex life is pretty good atm but I still feel a bit shy even though we've been together 11 years!

If I'm in the mood, I'll make sure I'm affectionate throughout the day and maybe, in a jokey/flirty way, let him know I'm up for it. I think doing a bit of groundwork stops you feeling embarrassed about initiating sex later on.

Make sure you go to bed early enough too!

Text during the day saying "Date night tonight?"

If you're on the sofa watching TV, cuddle that bit closer.

Think back to the good times - is there anything you/he did that acted as a signal? A certain kiss, stroke of the arm, a phrase?

Good luck!!

Have a few drinks and get a little tipsy, and perhaps play some games that involve interaction.

It the embarassng silence just anytime you are alne- do you mean you don't talk about anything? Or feel relaxed together?

I feel the same. Fourth dc due in a few months. All under 5.. We're only in our late 20's and I just feel like I've lost the way. He still initiates, but I feel so unsexy, and awkward. We got together when I was 17 he's my only sexual partner so I feel so rusty on experience too.. Despite U.S. Having a great one before kids.

I feel your pain!
