Does anyone wear these?
I was going to get some but really have no idea what they're for, how to wear them, what to wear over the top (clothes wise), where to buy them from, anything really.
Can anyone shed some light?!
It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and dp and I are going away for a long weekend without dc. We have a nice meal planned and thought I'd wear them then.

I wear Wolford holdups. Don't like suspenders

Savagebeauty · 31/08/2015 10:46

Posted too soon. M and S sell stockings/ suspenders .I get Wolfords in JL

I wear them with dresses and heels usually. Or just on their own with some underwear and fuck me heels.

Buy them from most shops - Primark and Ann Summers both have them.

A couple of tips are to buy more than one pair in case you get a run in one whilst putting it on, and if you hook the back one on whilst sitting down, it's much easier than trying to fiddle with it whilst stood up. Oh and put panties on over them as opposed to under them otherwise you'll have to take them off to nip to the loo.

OpiesOldLady · 31/08/2015 10:52

Oh and it totally doesn't matter what size you are - anyone can wear them!

pocketsaviour · 31/08/2015 10:55

I've never been able to wear hold-ups: they just roll themselves back down my legs until they're ankle socks, and leave me with a nasty rash on my thighs where the supposed-to-be-sticking-to-me part was.

I used to wear stockings and suspenders a lot when I wore skirts as they're much more economical than tights (because if you get a hole in one leg you just throw the individual stocking away, not the whole pair) and don't cause overheating in the crotch.

For seduction purposes, just wear them with a skirt or dress which is long enough to cover them, so you're not flashing them at everyone in the restaurant or whatever.

Wolfords are great...last for ever. Their 60 denier I've had three or four years.

CakeNinja · 31/08/2015 11:20

I've had problems with holdups before in that they didn't hold up!

I'll have a look at a few different sites and see what they have.

The hooking and clipping in bit looks very fiddly Confused

Thanks :)

I have some fabulous hold-ups from Tescos. They are very flattering and very comfortable.
I used to wear suspenders but they are not as comfortable with a post baby tummy!

These are the ones

The clip and hook is actually really easy, easier than doing up a bra!

CakeNinja · 01/09/2015 13:50

Yes but I have to do up my bra at the front and then swivel it round because I'm all fingers and thumbs!

If you struggle fastening your bra, then wriggling into a suspender belt and sheer stockings will be a much bigger challenge!

Don't forget though, that the idea is to keep your suspenders and stockings (and heels) on during the act, and without them, then you might not get that far anyway.

oldaninpurple · 05/09/2015 17:18

Personally, I really like the wide 6 strapped suspender belts above the more commonly available four/thin strap belts. There's something about '40/50s glamour that is very appealing. Seamed Stockings perhaps? It's worth going to a lingerie retailer as the fashion stockings don't have a wide enough band in my experience and end up very uncomfortably rolling - apart from not looking great, all wrinkles etx.
