Difficult if they love a place, but great she's got friends, I know my DD would have been happy with our 3rd choice because all her friends got in.

Good luck in September.

Hi I just needed some advice my two children who are in yr7 they currently attend St James in Colindale and I completely hate the Schl the academic side is poor, the discipline side is terrible, I live in north finch but the Schl is in Colindale is there any way of getting them into the wren academy I have family that already go there and I love it it's everything I expect for education and discipline not too mention it being 15 min walk from me, is there any help or advice anybody can give me pls many thanks ;-))

You can apply for your children to be admitted to any school at any time. If the school has a place they have to give it to you. If they don't you can put your children on the waiting list. You can also appeal, of course. Contact the LA (Barnet) and apply for your children to be transferred.

You need to talk to the school admissions office at Barnet Local Authority. Don't be put off by the comments about secondary school transfers etc, the rules changed in September so that the Local Authority was reponsible for all school admissions, no matter what time of year.

prh47bridge · 21/11/2010 19:10

LA is Local Authority, i.e. Barnet Council for your area. Sorry for not explaining the abbreviation.

HI Squashybella

I got in on appeal last year and we live about 20-25 mins walk (I walk slowly!!). But know they have larger numbers this year and if your only 15 minutes walk, if you haven't already got a place you should be close to the top!!

Have you got in?
