How many art lessons does your year 7 child get per week/fortnight?

Dd1 only gets 2 per fortnight (both in the same week ). Doesn't seem like much.

But surely you can get some knowledgeable adult to guide her out of school? Or do you live in the countryside where there is no access to drama school/arts courses etc? Otherwise, why not just sign her up for drama school? Or could you get a private tutor?

Also, plenty of other non-academic subjects at school: food technology, textile technology etc.

Secondary KS3 curriculum is quite squashed anyway, so specialist schools don't have much freedom to do things particularly differently.

The school I work at is a Tech college - yr7s do the same amount of Tech as other schools.
Another school is MFL college - same
Another school is Sci college - same
Another school is Sports college - same!

ds1's school is Perf Arts school and they do do signif. more music/art/drama in yr7 than in my school.
