Hi. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who works at this school or who has children at the school or if their child has recently left the school in the last 2 years (i hear the school has changed a lot).

I know some years ago the school did not have a music teacher and was poorly staffed/equipped in the arts but strong in Sciences. I hear the school has changed a lot but I don't know how it's changed or what has changed.

I completely missed the recent Open Day and this school is one of our choices. We are within catchment. But wanted to know if the school has made any changes within their music and art departments. Are the students cheerful? Relaxed? Happy?

I can't believe i missed Open Day.

Is this the one in Cator Park? If so - I don’t have kids there but we saw it last year and I was underwhelmed . The kids seemed very flat, quiet and not enthusiastic when we did the tour. I didn’t like the fact that the first thing we were told when we arrived was not “welcome”‘it was “don’t go in any classrooms - it’s disruptive”- the complete opposite of every other tour we went on! I also wasn’t keen on all the negative signs stuck seemingly everywhere - no talking, no entry , no pupils etc- over every corridor. I also didn’t get good vibes from the head -(or “director” I think they call him) it was all about him and little about the school. It’s a huge shame as it’s the closest school to us but fortunately we went with (and got ) Sydenham- which so far into year 7 has not disappointed. Sorry to be so negative!

Oh wow! That doesn't sound like a warm and welcoming environment.
This one is the one on Lennard Road, BR3 1QP. They wear a purple blazer for school uniform. Is that the same one you went to?
