Anyone found a way to unlock Yonder pouches after school?

Has anyone found a magnet that can unlock Yonder pouches yet? (In case the kids forget to unlock it at school).
Or are we all using the pencil trick?

How will your child be prompted to remember to unlock it after school if you solve the problem for them?

NeverDropYourMooncup · Today 10:27

If you facilitate a way to get into them, you know that will then go to school and if found out when they inevitably start unlocking theirs and friends, they will be in a lot of trouble, don't you?

WaryCyanStork · Today 10:31

Not tried myself, but apparently the magnets sold for removing clothing security tags should work

The ENTIRE school found out how how to open them with a pencil without any input from me. Am I facilitating kids getting into them by sending them in with pencils? They are all VERY WELL aware of repercussions of phones out of pouches.
I just wanted something for home if needed.

Why? I mean, your kid forgot to unlock their phone and managed to get home just fine without it, so why do they need it to be unlocked at home?

We are all constantly solving problems for our kids. Big ones, small ones, ones to help them navigate the world. How back up plans are useful.

Yes, and constantly solving all their problems isn't good for them.

What is the problem with them being unable to access their phone for the evening?

Maybe they want to use it? I'm sure you do plenty of things that aren't strictly necessary.

Yes, and because they want to use it and they forgot to unlock it they learn an important lesson about remembering to unlock it at the end of school.

If mum intervenes then there are no consequences for forgetting to unlock it and they can continue to not be arsed enough to remember.

This is not good for teaching organisation skills.

If the whole school knows how to open them with a pencil, what are you asking? It sounds like you already know how to open them at home?

But really, if my child couldn’t open it at home, I’d tell them that maybe now they’ll remember to unlock it at school.

It's a turn of phrase.
Jeeeeez.

I hope your kids lock your phone in a yondr.

I can just picture pencils being sold at the school gates like fags were in the 90s 🤣🤣🤣.

They don't need it if the ENTIRE school already knows how to get into them then, do they?

Dolallytats · Today 11:08

I have no idea what a Yonder is, opened the thread to find out, but, blimey, some of these members got out of bed the wrong side this morning!!😂

Crosswurd · Today 11:12

A fishing magnet would presumably work.

In our school repeatedly bashing it off the wall seems to work. Or the pencil thing (which I don't understand and can't do) or a strong magnet.
Or if they'd locked my phone in it I'd be cutting it open with scissors and they could save up to replace it. While leaving their phone at home on school days

Everyone with dick kids says theirs aren’t.

My dad was "let's see a phone in it and see how it works" and picked mine up. Haaa.
It's only going to be a matter of time before something gets locked in one that shouldn't be.

Do you live somewhere that is pencil free? Why is there a need for two solutions?

Fair comment 😂. I was kinda hoping for a solution that wouldn't run the risk of jabbing a hole in the pouch (or me). Don't really want to have to buy another if I can help it.

Maybe I just need to have a responsible adult do any pencil opening - just like blue Peter taught us with any sharp poking in craft projects.
