Experience of securing a Hayes Secondary place while living in Orpington

Anyone have experience of securing a place at Hayes Secondary (Bromley) when living in Orpington?

I’m aware it’s out of catchment but wondered if anyone has managed to secure a place in recent years on a waitlist?

I live in West Wickham, just outside the catchment and think we are VERY unlikely to get in. They are also building 000s of houses in Hayes soon which will impact the school even further. So, in short I think no chance. Sorry!

Won’t happen, sorry. The catchment is tiny and as pp said if the new homes go ahead will be even worse.

No chance.

Thanks all. Thought as much but thought I’d ask incase someone had a rare bit of luck.

Not sure of others in the area but anyone have recommendations? Any thoughts on Ravens Wood?

My dc are only early primary, but my neighbours on both sides are at Ravens Wood and very happy. It’s supposed to be a good school. Are there not local schools that would be easier?

Local schools in Orpington aren’t great which is unfortunate. We’re doing 11+ for the Bexley and Kent grammars but doing research for other Bromley Borough options as back up…
