Bolingbroke, Wandsworth is it really that good?

I live not too far from Bolingbroke Ark Academy, Wandsworth. My kids do not attend a feeder school and I am wondering is the school really worth moving primary schools for?
I have heard the outdoor space is not huge but otherwise that is a great school. Does it really compare that well to other local state schools (not just with grades)?

bear in mind it is much much easier to move at primary than at secondary. there is much more movement at primary, between families having another child, moving for a number of reasons, going private, etc. By the time your kid reaches secondary, most families tend to be more settled

You need to go and have a look at the school and others in the area to compare. It is a great school - the kids go across the road to Wandsworth Common for outdoor space.
However you should look to see whether the school would suit your child and their particular needs/personality - they can be strict and some children with SEN have found it a struggle. I have a child there and they’ve done really well.

Thank you @Sausagepickle123(what great usernames on this thread!). I am glad to hear your child is doing well there. Currently my children are happy at their current primary school, so I would be very reluctant to move them. I have visited Elms Academy and Chestnut Grove and thought they both seemed pretty impressive (and heard very good things about Kingsdale), but there is this niggly fear we may be missing out on sending them to an even better school (Bolingbroke) just because they don't go to a feeder school. I think perhaps just visiting does make sense, but I have to admit to being quite frustrated with the feeder school system. It seems a little mad to be deciding what secondary school you want to send your child to when they're 3 years old and you're visiting primary schools!

A number of the feeder schools have spaces in higher years (eg some kids go to independent schools at 10+ or numbers reduce as families move out of London) so some people get spaces in feeder schools then and some places external to feeder schools come up. I would not be thinking about secondary yet if you have a 3 year old!

That is useful to know. Thank you. My kids are older, so think it might be worth going to see the school for myself.
