Sutton boys' grammar schools waiting list movement for Year 7 2026 entry

Anyone else on any of the Sutton Boys Grammar waiting lists this summer hol? My DS passed both stages for all 3 schools: Wilsons, Wallington Boys and Sutton Grammar, yet was offered a place at our local comp. After having a very upset boy on National Offer Day, I was really hoping for a waiting list place, but the closer it gets to September with no news or updates, the less hopeful I am feeling. Am I imagining it or is this a very low(possibly no movement year). We have not heard of anyone getting any waiting list offers this year and our places on the waiting list had hardly moved from April until the end of term. Am I missing something this year? Is this due to the 20% VAT increase in private schools?

Have you had a look at posts on the elevenplusexams forum? There are 'waiting list tracker' threads for a lot of grammar schools on there.

Yes, I have been following it religiously, and I can't see that anyone has posted about any waiting list offers for the boys grammars in the area this year, which is really unusual. I can see the girls grammars have offered a few places from the waiting list, but it just seems a very unusual year with no news of any boys gaining waiting list places, which is why I posted here to see what experiences parents had this year with the same waiting lists.
