Year 7 school bag, PE trainers and coat recommendations

As per title just writing a shopping list for year 7 stuff for a boy.

So I need recommendations for a sturdy but trendy back pack. Thinking Nike or Adidas but which one?

PE trainers - are sketchers cool enough or better to go with Adidas or Nike?

Coat - needs to be black/navy and ideally warm and waterproof or is it the thing now to use an umbrella and get a puffer jacket?

If it's anything like my son's school, they generally use a black backpack from any recognised sports brand. Pick a coat that doesn't take up much space in the bag - Y7 boys don't often wear coats. I haven't had any complaint on PE trainers; mine wears New Balance, but I've failed to be interested enough in sports shoes to find out what other kids are wearing.

Ultimately, if you have a confident kid they can have whatever they like, and unfortunately the socially anxious and nervous kids will attract unwanted attention whether they've conformed to 'acceptable brands' or otherwise.
