AIBU to feel that my daughters school is being discriminatory. There is an end of year day planned to go to a zoo for all year 7s but we’ve just recieved an email indicating that due to her absences (all due to genuine illnesses) she many not be allowed to go as it’s to reward students. I’ve already paid for this.

Then they need to refund you , you are not going to pay for someone else’s kid to go .

I think it’s really common to have a reward trip for full attendance. It’s not an option for everyone. If pu shouldn’t pay for it though if you’re not invited

Were you told in advance about the attendance criteria?

Not at all.

What is you daughter's attendance?

Get your money back. My granddaughter was once refused a trip because she'd been off school through illness. She was about 8 at the time and now 19, so a few years ago. The ones not going on the trip had to wave off the ones on the coach! Luckily she wasn't too bothered though but I just wondered who had that bright idea because someone did.
