Has anyone’s son recently sat any of the 11+ exams at the following schools? My daughter recently sat the 11+ (2025/2026) and had two-stage exams followed by interviews at some schools, though not all. It seems the boys have a single day of assessments and then, if successful, are called for an interview. Have I misunderstood?

I would check each boys’ school’s current admissions page rather than infer from the girls’ process. Some use a single assessment day and then interview only shortlisted pupils; others interview more widely. Email admissions and ask: papers sat, whether interviews are for shortlisted candidates only, whether group tasks are used, and when results are released.

Yes, makes sense, thank you.

I would just check the admissions website for this information. You will easily find it online. But I think most are assessment and shortlist of candidates for interview. I think its less and less schools that interview all candidates. Ds just did the 11+ last year. We did not think about interviews until after we finishes the assessments.

I can only answer for Dulwich - one morning of entrance exams (arrive at 8, finished around 11:45, there were 3 sections with breaks between). Shortlisted boys were called back for an interview which started with a group q&a with the head of school whilst the parents had a q&a with the head.

Thank you so much for this. It is very helpful. Do you remember what the sections were pls? Comprehension? Creative Writing? Maths & English?
