Anyone still waiting for a Beths offer from the waiting list?

Hi

Anyone else waiting for the offer from Beths Grammar School from waiting list. My position (37) in the waiting list hasn't changed at all since May 1st 😞.

Not in same area but also on waiting list so bumping for you.

would say generally advice I’ve seen is WLs move a lot around Easter just post offer/acceptance. Then lull in May, busier late May (ht) and into June/July as private school places firm up. Quieter in August due to hold then move again late August and into Sept. All to say quite normal.

are you using the eleven plus forum (not mn) to track?

Hi @Thinkingfrog

Thank you, I am not in the 11 + plus forum, do you think we have a chance ? May I know your waiting list position number as well ? Thanks again.

Search eleven plus forum - there might be previous years threads to give you an idea of how far through the list things move. Our nearest grammar goes to 60/70 but could be different for you and each year.

we’re 7th. Borderline if we get in by Sept base on previous years and movement this year so far

Hi @Thinkingfrog
Thank you.
I have an email from Beths school saying previous years they went up to 10 miles, also in their website it says they also went to Criteria 8(Beths fail, Kent pass) in the previous 2 years. Based on that we were confident we would get a offer, but so far there is nothing, I am losing hope day by day or I'm I overreacting? Sorry.. Just sharing my feelings.. 😞

It’s a long wait. Do you have a reasonable back up?

it’s likely that a lot of families in list ahead of you already have other plans eg private so when list moves it might go a fair way. Kent goes in phases I think?

We have a good boys comprehensive school as a back up in Bromley, but son is devasted as he really wanted to go to a grammar school. I am not sure about kent.

The Kent reallocations are later than bexley and bromley and went out on 23rd April.
Depending on where you live the waiting lists start moving once the acceptance date for these have passed.
Last year Judd apparently reallocated 26 places this then moved boys from TWGSB plus potentially the bexley grammars. This frees up firther places in those grammars and things keep moving.
Both Beths and TWGSB were still offering to waiting lists through the summer term.

If your son has a bexley pass then based on last 2 years you should eventually get an offer but might be after transition day.
It is unsettling though and you have to decide how long you are prepared to wait
