St Mary Magdalene Academy 6th form

I'm interested in hearing people's experience particularly of 6th form here.

DD is quite keen, but is currently at a more academic school. She likes SMMA because it's nearer home, in a nicer part of town and good for languages - she wants to do German.

Nice. Not hugely pushy. Not party-heavy like Camden. Low staff turnover. Some to Oxbridge but often for lower-demand subjects. A fairly long tail of low grades some years; you’d want to be motivated but that’s the case anywhere.

Thanks @clamshell24. Good to hear that staff turnover is low. DD is pretty motivated - currently at grammar.

I didn't realise that Camden was particularly party heavy. She was keen but no German and unlikely to get a place, she's on the waiting list but we're quite far. The other one she's considering is LaSwap.

She's got offers from a couple of others too but they're either too far away or don't do the subjects she wants.

Bumping this. DD really enjoyed the offer holders day.

Would like to hear any experience about what the teaching is like, uni support and whether they offer language exchanges. We missed the open day so I only have Dds view.

For context, she's already at a grammar in a less lovely part of town but it gets amazing results so not sure if it's crazy to move.
