Dear Mums
I’m reaching out for a little reassurance regarding our choice of senior schools. We’ve visited three local schools, received scholarship offers and at the moment we’re leaning towards Woodbridge (received art scholarship offer).
My daughter is currently at a school she absolutely loves. She has wonderful friends and is so sad to be leaving, but the school only goes up to Year 8. Although she’s generally very social and has never had any difficulty making friends, she didn’t particularly like any of the schools we visited. I think a big part of that is simply that nothing compares to where she is now.
I suppose my main question is: is Woodbridge welcoming? Will she be able to settle in happily? We’ve heard that friendships there can be quite close-knit and sometimes hard to break into, which naturally worries me a little as a mum.
I’ve also heard that their pastoral care is very strong, especially in supporting new joiners in Year 9, which is reassuring. It’s such a big chapter, and I can only imagine how daunting this change must feel for a 12-year-old girl.
I’m just really looking for some honest reassurance that Woodbridge could be the right choice for us.
Thank you so much in advance — I really appreciate your thoughts.
