We are considering 3 schools for our child (in case relevant autism and adhd). The furthest away also offers boarding and is perhaps the most well regarded, but given their needs boarding would not work (over stimulation can lead to big outburst which wouldn’t work in a dorm). It would be about an hour.
However, all 3 schools are about 30-60min away, so none on our doorstep. Closer schools are a bit too selective or just don’t have the necessary learning support departments.
What would you say is the max journey time without exhausting a child? Any insight into these three schools and learning support? Both in terms of support but also whether children can still thrive academically? What’s behaviour like?
We are not above moving house if need be but obviously if we don’t need to would rather stay put!
