My niece went to Marymount International School in Kingston and here is her review. When she graduated, she wanted to put her honest review. Every review on Google, youtube and other social media is disabled. Looks like they are hiding something. So here is my niece's honest review of the school:-
As a former pupil, I want to share my honest experience to help families considering this school, Marymount International School, London undoubtedly has a strong academic reputation. The teaching is rigorous, results are excellent and facilities are outstanding. The Catholic ethos is prominent and many girls thrive in that environment.
However, my time there was deeply challenging personally. I felt profoundly lonely and isolated. The overwhelming priority seemed to be on academic performance and maintaining the school's reputation, often at the expense of individual emotional wellbeing and mental health support. When struggling, the focus felt more on religious framing (e.g., concepts of sin) than practical, compassionate help. I developed an eating disorder and started to self harm which was categorised a sin.
The scariest was the spinster deputy who came across as more controlling than nurturing at times, prioritising conformity over addressing real needs. In my experience, the deputy head's leadership style reminded me strongly of the Nurse Ratched character. Calm and composed on the surface but coming across as deeply controlling and unsupportive in a way that prioritised conformity over compassion.
Other girls may have had positive experiences and academics are a clear strength but I wouldn't recommend this school if wellbeing and a truly open, supportive culture are priorities for your daughter. I sincerely hope things have improved, as no one should go through what I did. I am writing this on here as Marymount London have disabled their review. That is really sus.
