OK potentially wild question. My child is keen to try to boost language skills, we have come up with the possibility of spending time in. French school. Does anyone know of any French schools that might take a boarder for a term? Thanks

I don’t have any school ideas but I think it’s a great idea idea!
Our ds did this for a couple of terms in French speaking Switzerland andit was awesome.

Have a look at this. You spend 2-3 weeks of the summer in an Irish boarding school, BUT you HAVE to speak the language all the time, otherwise you run the risk of getting sent home. Like summer camp, but with morning classes and everything in French.

How old is he? Many years ago I stayed with the Tracey’s in Brittany. Worth asking them what they recommend

The best way to learn a language is to live there and to have a girl / boy friend who doesn’t speak English! B

Is your school or village twinned with one in france? Worth asking if they have any potential exchange students who would like to spend a few months here and he a few months there.

I wouldn’t recommend Nice but when I was there 16/17 I went there to study at a language school in the Easter holidays for 2 or 3 weeks. The school also arranged home stays for its students.

unfortunately I had far too good a time and hung out with the international students speaking English, rather than learning French with my host family. In hindsight such a waste of an opportunity!!

this looks similar to what I did https://www.ihnice.com/homestay
