Black Visio pen by maped or black yoro pen… needed to write in GCSEs

My son who has cerebral palsy can write with either yoro or Visio pens. For his exams he needs to write in black but they appear to be out of stock seemingly everywhere. Swaneckpenns which are also for left handed are the wrong shape for the contractions in my son’s hands. If anyone knows of anywhere that sticks yoro or Visio pens in black I’d be very grateful

Thanks. We may yet try that if there’s no shop in this country with stock!

Black Yoro refills any good?

Sadly they are blue, which is against the exam board rules. It may yet be I need to argue for an access arrangement to write in blue due to the lack of availability of black pens, but hopefully I can sort something else!

Definitely try that, why black is it for the scanning, photocopying aspect?
Surely that's minimum of reasonable adjustment?!

It is for scanning purposes.

The exam papers are scanned in and cropped for each question and answer.
These are then sent to the markers.

Would these do? From amazon.

Thanks we tried those but the grip is in the wrong place. Who would have thought getting a black pen which didn’t cause many problems was such a problem. I think I am landing on talk the school into blue for mocks in order to keep the one spare black pen for next summer! Most exams are typed so not an issue but my DS writes maths, some science and MFL and the pen is clearly this weeks problem!

Blue for mocks should be fine, and is a sensible suggestion! I used Yorp pens for my university exams (many years ago!) I hope you get something sorted. Might be worth contacting a specialist pen shop to see if they can order stock more easily than you can buy individual pens?

This is a great idea.
If the school has any sense they will be quite happy to agree to it.
It will also give you a chance to get a stock of pens in for the actual exams.
