Secondary schools south London - Haberdashers Borough

Are there any parents with children currently attending Haberdashers Borough? Please could anyone offer insight into the school and student life inside/outside of school? Specifically bullying or aggressive behaviour. A couple of years ago there were rumours of knife fights outside of school with boys in uniform. I was wondering whether this is a continuing problem?

also if anyone has other good secondary school suggestions in the Waterloo or Southwark area I’d be very grateful

Have a look at London Nautical School it’s a small school but when my ds left there 3 years ago he’d really enjoyed it

When the school first opened it did have a lot of issues and fights outside the school, I unfortunately saw a few. However, I know parents with children at Habs and have spoken positively about it. I have friends who have visited it on open days loved it and will put it down as first choice.

I have visited the school on an open day and was not particularly impressed with pupil behaviour. Obviously, it really depends on the makeup of the intake cohort. A large proportion of the intake nowadays are from the local Charles Dickens Primary School - which has had in recent times has behaviour issues particularly with boys.

You can also look at these:
Oasis in Lambeth North
St Michael's Catholic College in Bermondsey
St Saviours Girls
Harris Bermondsey Girls
Charter Bermondsey
Pimlico Academy
Westminster Academy

Thank you so much for the insight and the school recommendations! Do you happen to know whether the violence of students at haberdashers is an ongoing problem?

I saw St Michael's at their open day and it seemed brilliant.

No, I do not have further insight on more recent behaviour within the school.

I also liked St Michael's College following their open day though as we are not religious family are unlikely to secure a place.

I know a Y7 (girl) who is v happy with Habs Borough so far, as are her parents. Lots of opportunities apparently. I don't have more details than that though
