Marylebone CE Girls church places

Looking for some advice on Marylebone Girls. I know to qualify for a church place you have to live in the Diocese of London but, in practice, how big is the catchment area within that? Do you still have to live very close to get a place? I know the banding test probably complicates things but any indication of how general distances would be very helpful.

I know someone who received a faith place offer and was about 5 miles ish from the school. They would have most certainly been in the top band. I believe this was a straight offer and not a waiting list one.

On my travels to work I have seen a number of girls in that general area with the uniform so I would say there is a good chance that 5 miles is realistic catchment for the school in your circumstances (on the assumption that these children received faith based offers not performing arts or general offers).

I know 2 girls who went there and they definitely did not live super close to the school, according to apple maps maybe over 5 miles away. They both did exceptionally well in their A levels despite the travel.

My niece went to this school and is not in the catchment area. She lives miles away. She got in on a performing arts scholarship.. I'm not sure if they still do that.

It's a great school.

Westminster Council says the last distance for CofE places last year was:
Band A Up to 1.341 miles in criterion 2.1.3
Band B Up to 8.124 miles in criterion 2.1.2
Band C Up to 9.360 miles in criterion 2.1.2
Band D Up to 1.756 miles in criterion 2.1.4

where the criteria were:
2.1.1 to applicants who have attended a weekly* service with their parent(s) / carer(s) at St Marylebone Parish Church on at least 26 occasions in each of the three years preceding the date of application to the School
2.1.2 to applicants who have attended a weekly* service with their parent(s) / carer(s) at any other Church of England church on at least 26 occasions in each of the three years preceding the date of application to the School
2.1.3 to applicants who have attended a weekly* service with their parent(s) / carer(s) at any Church of England church on at least 13 occasions in each of the three years preceding the date of application to the School
2.1.4 to any other applicants who qualify for a Church of England place.

So, if you qualify for criterion 2.1.2 or higher (26 services per year for three years at any CofE church), you should be eligible from many miles away.

Thanks so much for this!
