Hi All, will really appreciate a response if you have had a similar experience or know people who did. Our DD got into the 11+ at G&L but it was a bit of a commute and she (and us) were very apprehensive sending a 11y old into central London on a tube. So we ended up taking a place at a school near home. DD has, however, grown in confidence a lot over the last year or so and she is now ready to do the commute. G&L was her and our favourite school then and it still is. But of course we need an occasional vacancy to come up for Y9 and get through one more time - so it’s not going to be easy! But we don’t know if occasional vacancies even come
up at this stage - we have been told that it’s not even certain they would. And how do you prepare for it if they do - we are clearly at sea now and any thoughts would help a lot …

Ask the school they would be able to guide you, otherwise you get older version of occasional places etc and it would not be helpful. Also, commute is it by train, tube etc? I think it is worth checking on this as the journey may not be as simple if Tube strikes.
