Hi lovely ladies!

Can anyone guide regarding best transport options from Lincoln to King Edward grammar school?

My son has been offered a place in year 9 and he will be travelling by bus.
Also would love to be in touch with anyone whose boys are there already in year 9 to get to know about the school bit more.
Thanks

Is that the King Edward School in Louth (I don’t know of one in Lincoln itself so assume it must be, but apols if wrong)?

That must be more than 20 miles away – even if you live the right side of Lincoln. If you live on the south-west of the city I would think more like 30 miles. Is there a dedicated school bus or is he going to take the normal service bus? If the latter I imagine it would take more than an hour just for the bus trip. And then he has to get to and from the bus stop at each end – could be 90 mins or more in total, twice a day.

It doesn’t sound like an ideal option tbh; even if just until GCSEs, that's still three years of a really serious commute.

Like I say, if you mean a school nearer to Lincoln then ignore this.

It can't possibly have been a surprise to you that he's been offered a place, you've been through the full application process, yes? In which case you would have surely considered how a 13/14yo is going to travel 60+ miles per day on public transport (assuming you're not driving him)? And you've already done lots of research into the school and it's workings of y9?!?
