Can't believe DD is about to start year 7, she's our youngest and so I'll have no more primary school children in the house. Though DS is older he's in a specialist school that goes from Y5 so we haven't done this transition before!

The blazer badge is sewn on and the blazer is hanging on the front room door but we're all in denial.
Someone recommended watching Our School so I put it on tonight and she said "NOT WATCHING THIS" but then we saw her peeking in at the door and I think she found it really reassuring.
But I'm still in denial.

Ah it's difficult isn't it? Our dd is starting y7 too, shes the eldest. She's avidly watching Our School, shes so excited and terrified too. Im excited for her independence but I'm sad, I realise she will change so much so quickly once she starts secondary and I'm sad as shes amazing just how she is. Also she has lots of friends but not 1 really close one, she can be shy and quiet and I'm hoping this doesn't make her a target. She's meeting up with a few girls from primary this week and going off to do something with them so I'm hoping this will help.

Yes dd1 is about to start y7 and dd2 is about to start reception. I’m exhausted already at the thought of both tbh

I don't suppose the year 7 is at a school close enough to pick up the YR?

One of DD classmates' mum was at the leavers' assembly, I recognised her, middle aged Muslim mum next to a very glam 20 something woman. Oh whose mum are you, I can't remember, she told me. Oh and this is my daughter, M's older sister. Apparently the sister was in year 9 when surprise baby came along!
