Hi parents, we are considering a move over from NZ early next year and would really like some feedback on local schools in Godalming and Haselmere please.

In particular Grayswood and Busbridge Junior schools and Bohunt secondary school.

Open to hearing about other schools in the area too. For primary looking for somewhere that nurtures the kids and they are happy to be at school and for secondary somewhere that has good academics but also focuses on wellbeing.

Thank you!

Good luck with the move! Depending on the age of your children and when you move, not all schools will have space, so worth bearing that in mind. I don't know as much about Godalming, but Haslemere schools all have very good reputations, including Grayswood. I've heard nice things about their forest school. Bohunt is probably the most academic of the local state secondaries, but other options are Woolmer Hill, Rodborough and Midhurst Rother. Lots of choice :)

Two secondaries in Godalming, one in Milford , Rodborough, and one in Farncombe, Broadwater. Rodborough became part of the WeyMat trust a couple of years ago and friends who send children there are resonably happy with it. I know that Broadwater has gained a great reputation over the past 5 years for behaviour, results and extra-curricular while not losing it's reputation for pastoral care.

Has anyone got any feedback on the primary schools please? It seems that Godalming Junior and Busbridge are both full and we may have found a rental right by Godalming Junior! Means we can get in to Broadwater but now have no idea what we’re going to do for primary….this one is equally important as my son who will be in year 4 is really struggling with school so want him to be somewhere very nurturing.

Unfortunately it can be tricky mid-year. Your best bet is to contact the Surrey schools admissions team and ask where has space is in year 4, then go from there. At the same time, get yourself on the waiting list for any schools you like in case something comes up.
