Does anyone have experience with late entrance assessments for grammar schools in Trafford (Manchester)? My son is y7 now

No local experience but youre waiting for someone to leave.....

Yes, I know — my child sat for one of the assessments last week. I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with the process. Places are limited, and many pupils took the assessment. I’m curious about what kind of score is usually needed to secure a place — is it nearly 90% or closer to 100%?
Will they take catchment area into consideration or not?

A child we know got into St.Ambrose at the start of the 3rd term. He was on a waiting list, a place became available, boys on the waiting list were invited to another exam and whoever scored the highest was admitted.

Its so hard to get the place.
