If you managed to win a secondary school appeal how did they first contact you to let you know. Did you receive an email first and then the letter to follow? Or no email just a letter?

I ask because a recent appeal the person who won got an email and then letter followed few days later. The people that didn't win didn't get an email just the letter later to say it wasn't upheld (they didn't win).

Is this usually the case?

There won't be one answer. The local authority I sit for sends an email quickly at the end of all the appeals saying the outcome, Whether it be yes or no , and then follows up with a detailed letter later. Successful and non-successful applicants are treated the same.

They hinted we’d pretty much won on the call. Got a letter in the post in the next few days.

I was emailed the following day with a detailed letter attached.

We were emailed 11 working days later on a weekend (should have been in 10 days). All depends on the council’s policies and in our case the number of appeals.
