St. Crispin’s school vs Waingels (Wokingham)

Hi All,
I hope you can help me with some information regarding the secondary schools - St. Crispin’s in Wokingham and Waingels in Woodley.

We have an option to go with one of these but confused which one to go with as have heard good things about both schools. My DS is not overly academic (I’d say he’s above average) but enjoys science/practicals, computing and sports (mainly cricket and badminton).

Does anyone have any feedback on these please?
I would really appreciate any information you can provide! 🙏🏻
Thank you!

Which is easiest for you to get to? That would probably be my top consideration if those are the two options for you.

Waingels is slightly quicker to get to but only by about 5 minutes

They are both good schools, but if you would need to cross Wokingham town centre to get to St. Crispins then I would go to Waingels, as the traffic can be very bad crossing Wokingham in the afternoon. Also, the main road into Wokingham goes past the entrance to St. Crispins School and it is totally gridlocked at the start and end of the school day.

They’re both good schools.
I have a lot of experience with Crispins as a parent, both good and bad. I did my PGCE at Waingels.
Go with the easiest journey!

I'd honestly go with Waingels. I don't want to discuss why. But if it's slightly bearer then I'd go Waingels.

Ah, that’s good to know, thank you. Waingels takes up approx 15 mins and St Crispins about 20 mins. We will make a journey at the start and end of school day to get a feel for the actual journey time.
