Moving up to Secondary School - Can I move child to a school with spaces?

Hi there
My child is moving up to Secondary School in September. I have never been convinced this school was a good fit for him, but we accepted what was offered. Over the weekend I have discovered a small Secondary School out in the sticks with a good reputation and spaces for year 7!
My question is that I can't work out how to process a transfer at this stage. I have been round in circles on their website.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You either contact the school or contact the local authority, depending on who coordinates admissions. I’d go with contacting the school and they can redirect you if needed Smile

You will likely need to do a new application and name the school. It will usually be through the LA at this point, as they will be co-ordinating applications, but no harm in asking the school too.
