My Ds had a brilliant day, he won the breaststroke race in the Year 7 swimming gala and his house came joint first
He then said he didn't want to go to school tomorrow, I think he is a very tired, only one more week.
My dd is year 5 and off on a residential course next week and is very excited. Feel sorry for her teacher this week.

Well done your ds christywhisty!

Our yr9s seem to think it's just party-time, and now that SATs are over no-one will expect them to do any work for the next 2 months

My boys (9 and 10) are tired and ready for holiday. DS1's got KS2 SATs this week and seems to be coping fine.

Yr11 leave tomorrow so were totally dreadful today! Some of them are so ready to go!

scaryteacher · 15/05/2008 21:11

What holiday? At ds's international school, which is supposed to be the British school, there is no half term! We are now straight through to July non stop. Yeuch.

roisin · 15/05/2008 21:27

Our yr11s have prom tonight and shirt signing tomorrow, but they are still in for all lessons next week, and then lots of sessions after half term too.

The HT has sent some students home on study leave because they were 'very naughty'. She has told the rest that if they don't behave they won't be allowed to come into school except for exams!

That really helped!

Our year 11's have been offered free bacon butties & a mug of tea in return for warm up lessons, starting at 7am next week!

roisin · 15/05/2008 21:39

7 am ??!!

I can't see you would get any staff into our place at that time of day, let alone any kids crikey?!

On exam day sours have bacon butties at 8.30 and 10 min brain booster session at 8.45 before exam starts!

First English paper starts at 8.30! Its the head of English that's going to be in and I don't think anyone else is! I know they're all doing a couple of days over half term too. There's lots of extra classes on during the day next week too, so I think I may be flying solo, with the lower school! Eeek!

roisin · 15/05/2008 22:03

At our place when they do extra boosters the staff who are timetabled to teach yr11s still do the cover for the English teachers (or whoever) who are doing the boosters
