Holy Child or Mount Anville

Hi, I am looking to send my daughter to first year in Secondary in Dublin this coming Sept. We are relocating back to Ireland and have some offers from schools but need help deciding. We are thinking it's between Mount Anville and Holy Child. Does anyone have any thoughts or expierence of either school that you could share? Thanks.

Maybe try posting in Craicnet too.

They are much of a muchness. Both expensive privates (by Irish standards) and both have a good record of 3rd level placements. Mount Anville is bigger which may make it easier to make friends. And i personally don't like the uniform.

Perfect if you want your daughter to feel
paet of a superior south side clique…nothing like a pack of Mounties 🙄🙄🙄

It depends entirely on where you'll be living.

Getting to HC would be difficult if you're not on the coast/ Dart corridor or in the Killiney / Cabinteely/ Blackrock hinterlands.

Getting to MA would be really difficult from the same area.

You need to find a home asap and make your choice accordingly.

Both are excellent schools.

Well I'm a Loreto Foxrock girl so you must hate me 🤣. Nothing like a bit of rampant prejudice.

Where will you live? Traffic in Dublin is an absolute mare. Mount Anville is probably the most prestigious Dublin school for girls but I have acquaintances in other schools around and they seem to have pretty similar ethos’s.

Where are you planning to live? They're both good schools to be honest. I went to Holy Child but wouldn't say there's a big difference between them. Mount Anville is bigger I think so if your child would do better in a smaller school maybe Holy Child or vice versa

Oh give over 😴

OP I agree with PP I’d focus on finding an address and then base it off that, both schools will be much of a muchness but HC is smaller if that’s preferable to you.
