I want to make my DC a GCSE box just as a little “I’m thinking of you” because they are working really hard.

You can buy them online, but they are mostly made up of crap. I want to put things in that they’ll use and benefit from.

Any ideas?

So far I’m very got:

Chocolate
Relaxing spray mist
Good luck card

What are their hobbies? My DD loves to draw and likes art pens so I would have given her some of those. A voucher for a Costa/pizza/cinema if they go out with their mates there occasionally?

What a lovely idea! What about adding…

box of nice tea
hot chocolate mix
bag of mini marshmallows
chocolate stirring spoons
coffee shop gift card
bubble bath

My dd really likes revising with a scented candle in the evenings - if you happen to be near ikea they have some nice ones.

also some bottles of chilled sparkling water and some ice cubes in the freezer

10 years ago I did a little treat for DD1 after every exam (fewer exams than now!) and DD2, 5 years younger, got them to for being supportive with all the time I was with DD1.

We did things like smelly highlighters, chocolate bars, lipsalve etc.

Snacks are the badger here I think. Favourite Doritos or rice cakes, fresh mini cucumbers and hummous.

Sleep mask
Cute post it notes
Washi tape

Cute keyring

(channelling my Dd here!)

vouchers for places like nando's, gail's, waga, pret, greg's. They can go for a stroll at lunch for a nice sandwich break and look forward to meal with friends. Depends where you live and your local high street though!

We always have a house full of sweet treats and pamper stuff so my DD picked out lots of new stationary last weekend to help with revision. She loves new pens, notebooks etc and picked up a fresh water bottle to encourage drinking more.

I'm thinking of doing this for DS.
He may be simpler... he's mostly motivated by chocolate biscuits and Pokémon cards.

mysecretshame · 08/04/2025 10:21

I'm thinking about doing this - but I didn't do it for DS1 so I don't want to make it too obvious, more just slide some things his way.
DS2 is big into protein and strawberry laces, so that will be my theme.

DataColour · 08/04/2025 13:48

DS likes sweets and soft drinks for treats. Also pizza!

Before GCSEs last year we rarely had food delivered so we treated DD1 with Friday Night delivery of Nando’s, Domino’s etc. Gave us all something to look forward to and she loved it.
