Streatham & Clampham High School Waiting List for Year 7

Just wondering if anyone is on the waiting list for SCHS for year 7 in September 25. Also, does anyone have any idea how long it takes to hear back if you are on the waiting list. Any response would be greatful.

I knew of quite a few girls who were on the WL last year. They all ended up getting places. I think most offers off the WL happened in the few days before the acceptance deadline (most of the ones I knew of) and the few days after.

If you want the place, make sure you call and tell them you will accept immediately if offered.

Current SCHS parent here! I suspect that there will be a lot of movement tomorrow once the state school places are allocated. I also know of three children who are rejecting places this morning to accept other, more traditionally academic, private schools.

It is a brilliant - hugely underrated - school. I suspect it’ll also be getting better under the new head. She’s made great progress already. The ethos seems to be to continue with a broad range of girls. DD is academic, on course for 9s at GCSE and has thrived in the less pressured environment. I think WH or PH, for example, would have been too much of a hot house for her. Good luck!

I wondered if any of the mums who have daughters at Streatham and Clapham high have any info on the 11+ assessment? Do they know what the format of the group activity and creative writing is and whether they have any tips for this?
