Is anyone else nervously waiting to hear from St Paul’s & Westminster for deferred 13+ entry today?

Offers out for Westminster

SPSvsWS · 28/02/2025 16:56

If anyone is now in the lucky position of having to choose between Westminster and St Paul’s, would love to hear your thoughts. Both schools are amazing, and I personally think the introduction of girls into Westminster will be a positive thing (although the 2027 entry year will still be boys only). Westminster is more expensive and a bit harder for us to get to - although if Hammersmith bridge ends up being closed to foot traffic that would be very tricky for St Paul’s.

We are also lucky enough to get both offers! SPS close to us (short bus journey) whereas Westminster will involve a tube journey, which might get busy in the evenings + Sat school + more expensive, hence leaning towards SPS. Having spoken to parents, both schools seem wonderful. DH prefers SPS as he think it’s more modern Vs Westminster which seems a bit more traditional . DS hasn’t done the tour at Westminster and just found it “crowded” based on the assessment day, so not keen. I prefer Westminster and like the co-ed aspects although it won’t benefit his year.
We might visit once more to decide.

Congratulations! It sounds like you are in a similar position to us and our thinking as well. Good luck with your decision making!

Would love to hear from anyone who made this choice in earlier years? Anything that swayed your decision?
And how have you found the teaching, atmosphere etc since joining?
