How to politely correct Head of Sixth Form on spelling of DS' name?

DS applied to a sixth form, and the Head of the school sent an email with his name spelt wrong in the subject line and body of the email (exchanging a letter for another). His name isn't particularly exotic or unusual, it's something like spelling "Brandon" as "Branden".

Additionally, they got my email address wrong by missing out on one letter. I only knew about it because DH was copied in on the email.

Can anyone help with a polite way to correct these spellings when I respond to the Head of Sixth Form by email?

Below is my draft, which I plan to add to the end of my email reply, but it would be good to know if there are better ways to say it. They aren't our real names, but the way the letters are missed is similar.

I hope you can update my email address on your contact list from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]", and I also hope you can double check the spelling of Brandon's name (with an 'o', so it's not "Branden") on the system.

Way too wordy and polite!

Please note that you have my email address wrong - it's "[email protected]" not "[email protected]" I also note that you have spelt my son's name wrongly: it's Brandon, not Branden.

Getting email addresses right is important, but getting the names of your pupils right is even more so.

Honestly don't bother.

Reply and then they'll have your email.

His full legal name will go in the system at the point of registration.

Why are you overthinking this? Just send the email? It isn’t close to a big enough issue to need a group to find the perfect wording.

Stop "hoping they can" and just tell them to correct both your son's name and your email address. Job done 😁

Many thanks for this email/information.

Just to note that my email address is EMAIL and my son’s name is NAME. If you could please update this on the system that would be much appreciated.

Job done.

This

It's obviously just a transcription error although most schools these days should be using electronic systems for sixth form applications now where this shouldn't happen.

He will have received a bounce back anyway. It's a non issue.

"Please note my correct email address (unfortunately I didn't receive your email due to a small error). Also note the spelling of Brandon"

Don't 'reply and then they'll have your email', they will continue to use the email address that is on their system and probably don't have access to that to update it themselves.

Your original email just say 'please update' instead of 'I hope you can update'.
