Hello, we are really keen to hear from people with experience with these two secondary schools. We like them both, their locations are good for us, our daughter is happy with co-ed (coming from such environment) or girls only, she is outgoing, sporty, and she likes to learn and participate in the classroom, a keen student with preference in year 6 for English, languages, History, science. We are trying to find the other major differences between these schools that could help us to choose the right one from year 7. For instance, we heard that PH might feel more competitive between the girls. Thanks for your help.

@SunnyDay33 Sorry, I missed your message, we also went for KGS, we felt that a co-ed environment was the right one for the next 6-8 years and KGS' pastoral care was always mentioned in all the information we received or read about these schools. We live around Richmond / Sheen / Barnes, we just hope she will have classmates that live in the same area to create friendships outside of school and commute with.

@NSLdn there is a huge number of KGS students on that Barnes - Richmond - Teddington - Kingston train, I think about 20+ (if not more) of the current Year 7s take it from any of the stops along the line, so I'm sure your DD will have company.

@NSLdn , thanks for your response! And we are based in the same area as you.

I've had 2 girls at Putney and one at KGS (wanted co-ed) Both good schools but if I had my time again I'd choose KGS for all 3. Academically really strong, top notch teaching and great drama and sport. Both girls did really well academically at Putney but found it to sometimes to be a stressful learning environment, quite a lot of very competitive girls and lots of friendship issues. Both have now left and are at Uni and are really non plussed about their experience. Daughter who is at KGS loves it, absolutely blossomed academically and socially, and I know when the time comes will not want to leave.
