Rochester Independent College for my ASD daughter??

Hi, our lovely daughter (Sophie) is slightly ‘broken’! She’s 15, just diagnosed with ASD (high masking!) and is EBSA (she’s only going into school for Art). We’re going through the EHCP application etc. She’s such a nice girl, bright, creative, high masking so you’d never know she’s struggling. She’s struggled for a long time and now that the wheels have come off I’m realising just how much she’s been ‘broken’ by her school experience. SO…..we’re looking for a school that will work for her and I really like the look of Rochester Independent College. It’s not a SEN school (I don’t think) but it has small class sizes and a liberal approach which I feel would work really well for Sophie. We live in Cheshire so it would be a big move! I’d love to hear if anyone has experience of the school and if it would work for Soph.
Thanks so much x

Hi there, I hope you're well. I'm a journalist conducting research for a long Guardian piece about EBSA and young people's experience, and was wondering whether I might be able to speak with you about your experiences with your daughter? Mumsnet private messaging is down, so I'll put my email here if you would be up for speaking to me or to hear more about the research: [email protected] Very best, Lamorna Ash
