SW London Grammar and private senior school entry 2026

Setting up this thread for those of us with DC joining year 7 SW London schools in 2026.

We’re planning to apply to KCS, Hampton, Epsom and Reed’s.

Have been living in Dubai for three years, returning in August for year 6 at DS’ old prep school.

DS has an online tutor focussing on exam technique and any gaps in the curriculum, plus Atom. Current school is great but definitely not preparing him for 11+!

Has anyone heard news of a second round from Emanuel yet please?

We haven’t yet- it said “Early January” so I am assuming we will hear something in the next few days

I read it is supposed to be today at some point.

Last year, Emanuel sent the emails out Friday, Jan 10th. Most years, the schools seem to follow similar to what they did the year before for emails about interviews, offers etc.

So eager to hear from G&L also! The email said by 12th January but I was hoping they would send something by the end of this week

My guess is this Friday, looking back at old emails they sent it the first Friday back after the break. I remember the wait for any of the emails felt like forever! Good luck to you all!

How did children find Whitgift 11+ yesterday?

Yes my son also said he found it hard! He said it was the hardest exam so far, and he sat Trinity, Dulwich and Emanuel.

My son said he found the Critical Thinking exam tricky - we weren’t really sure what kind of questions would come up, so hadn’t done any practise for it :s

Similar here. My son found the thinking paper hard but the other papers OK. He said he found it easier overall than Emanuel. In my experience how he found the papers does not necessarily correlate to results so we will have to wait and see

Good to know most parents are in the same boat. It was upsetting to see DS being emotional about how his exam was. I feel the papers weren’t representative of the specimen on the website. DS could not even solve the last Maths Question Good luck to everyone.

You just never know with the 11+ Exams my dc thought they did bad in they did well and others who said same exam was easy did not make it to the next round.

I would say either way you just don't know and the exams are usually meant to have some challenging questions, esp towards the end. Many don't finish the very difficult exams and still get in.

Does anyone know of a good interview Tutor / resources for the Godolphin & Latymer interview?

We have no idea about the format and wondered if we can do a bit of preparation beforehand?

I think I may get RSI from the number of times I’ve refreshed my email today waiting to see emails from school 😂 Suppose it’s a taste of what Feb 13th is going to be like 😳

I don’t think I’ve ever refreshed my emails more often than I have done this morning 🤣
