With Abingdon school going Co-ed on its own, does anyone think that will that effect the number of girls applying to St Helens and St Katherines - will they not just choose Abingdon?

Or will girls leave ShSk for Abingdon?

Why not do you think?

There may be a some individuals who would have gone to SHSK who choose Abingdon instead now, but it's unlikely to make a significant impact on SHSK's admissions. Aside from the fact that they're equals in terms of academic results (actually SHSK is more likely to edge out Abingdon on a given year), single-sex education for girls is still going strong and most students who choose SHSK appreciate the all girls aspect. That area already has other strong co-ed options for families who want co-ed to choose from rather than "settling" for SHSK because Abingdon isn't an option as you seem to be imagining.
